It’s Wedding Season, and if you’re like us, you’ve probably spent at least a few weekends this summer sipping champagne and watching a lovely couple say, “I do.” Whether you’re anticipating your own upcoming nuptials, helping a loved one plan for their big day, or  you just want to look photo fabulous in your everyday life, here are some tips and tricks for achieving “blushing bride” perfection.

Tip 1. Drink Lots of Water

We’ve all heard this tip repeatedly and for good reason. Drinking water is essential for flushing out toxins, staying hydrated, and looking refreshed. However, it can be hard to get your daily recommended 8 glasses. Try drinking a big glass of water (or two) as soon as you wake up. This will hydrate your organs, aid digestions, and even give you more energy. Plus, you’ll see a huge difference in the health of your skin.

Tip 2. Swap Soda for Green Tea, Black Tea, or Coffee

In the chaos of calling caterers, picking out a dress, and drafting a guest list, it may be tempting to grab for your favorite soda. After all, in the planning frenzy you’ll be craving a caffeine jolt. Try swapping out soda for green tea—a powerful antioxidant—black tea, or coffee. (But go easy on the coffee. Too much can do a number on your nervous and digestive systems.) You’ll trim your waistline and resist unhealthy chemicals that can wreak havoc on your epidermis.

Tip 3. Wear Sunscreen!

In preparation for the big day, make sure you’re wearing plenty of sunscreen. Apply either a chemical or physical sun block daily and slip extra SPF in your purse in case you need to reapply. You can also opt for extra protection in your makeup. Some BB creams, foundations, and moisturizers contain SPF 15 or 30.

Tip 4. Stick to an Exercise Routine – No Matter How Low Key

You don’t have to hit the gym for hours everyday to look great in your gown. Commit to exercising at least three times a week, even if it means an hour of walking or doing yoga. If you’re wearing a strapless gown, try using light weights to tone arms and back.

Tip 5. Eat Clean Without Going Overboard

Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein like fish and chicken, and nuts/almonds will do wonders for your complexion. Stick to clean eating, but don’t deprive yourself. Allow yourself the occasional splurge so you don’t feel deprived.

Tip 6. Stick to a Skincare Regimen

Everyone’s skin needs are different, and there is no one-size-fits-all formula to achieving a dewy glow. However, certain ingredients can target specific skin issues. For example, if you are prone to lots of breakouts, look for a product with salicylic acid. If you need tons of exfoliation, search out a skin solution that contains lactic acid. If wrinkles are your biggest concern, invest in retinol. And if you are dry as the Sahara, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Be sure to also check out the Fair&Flawless skincare blog for fabulous skincare routines.

Tip 7. Relax, lady…

One of the biggest skin killers is stress! So remember to breathe every now and then. If you’re feeling overwhelmed from planning your big day, take a break and meditate, listen to some relaxing music, or go pamper yourself. If you’re happy and relaxed, you’ll radiate grace. And that makes for a beautiful bride.
