There are some brides who are laid back about their wedding including choosing their hair and makeup artist. Then there are those who aren’t. 😉 You’re the kind of bride who knows who she is and knows what she likes. The picky bride would never say “I trust you, do what you think will look best on me.” Instead she says “I know what looks good on me, please listen while I explain it to you.” If you’re a picky bride then you need to find the right makeup and hair ‘fit’ for your big day and the sooner you start looking, the easier the task will be on you.
The picky bride needs to find a makeup/hair artist that is patient and accommodating.
You know you will scrutinize every inch of your face and every hair on your head until it looks absolutely perfect in your eyes. Search for makeup/hair artists who have a reputation for tolerance and patience. I’m going to tell you something about ‘creative types’…..many do not like to be told they have anything wrong. You will need to take your time and find the right fit for you. Someone who listens to your preferences and is patient with your level of “picky.”
The picky bride should expect to pay for more than 1 trial
Many makeup and hair artists will put a time limit on their trials. Why do they do this? Because of the picky bride. 😛 Be sure and ask up front if there is a time limit on your trial and if there are additional costs should you go over that allotted time. In some cases, you may need to come in for a 2nd trial just to ensure everything is the way you like it.
The picky bride needs book her trial a minimum of 6 months in advance of her wedding day
You need to test out a few artists and the earlier you do this, the better. Your goal is to find the right ‘fit’ for yourself and this cannot be done over the phone or by email. Book your trials early and when you find the right fit, book him/her immediately.
